A new application that lets you create three-dimensional representations of places and objects using digital images has been
launched by Microsoft.
Feed a collection of digital images into Photosynth (you need somewhere between 20 and 300) and the programme will analyse the collection by linking similarities in the images, finally linking the images together as a 3D simulation. You can then ‘fly’ through virtual spaces or get a 360-degree view of an object. A fantastic resource which lets you view images in ways not possible before.
